At the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains and sitting 5280 feet above sea level is the city of Denver, a city of diverse neighborhoods and over 300 days of sunshine each year. The amazing Mile High City is located 12 miles east of the foothills, which makes for amazing views of the mountains from anywhere in Denver. While you are in Denver, we encourage you to:
  • Stroll through the beautiful, 100 year old historic landmark of Union Station.   • Meander down Larimer Square. Named after General William Larimer, this is where Denver got its start in the late 1800's, between 14th and 15th streets. We encourage you to start your downtown Denver brewery hop with lunch and a beer at Rock Bottom Brewery.

Though Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery is a chain which is owned by SPB Hospitality, it started in Denver, Colorado in the Prudential Plaza. Rock Bottom Brewery was founded in 1991 by Frank Day and Thomas A. Moxcey.

With an intent of going public, Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc. was formed by Day and Moxcey in April 1994 and comprised the three distinct restaurant-breweries including: Rock Bottom Brewery, Walnut Brewery and several Old Chicago restaurants. Fast forward...and now, 30 years later, Rock Bottom boasts 18 locations across the country and has brewed thousands of original beers.

This large restaurant, bar and brewery, located on 16th street, has a lively yet comfortable and relaxed restaurant feel. There is plenty of seating inside at the bar or at tables to enjoy your beer and meal; or you can enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather and watch the hustle and bustle of the 16th Street mall outside on the patio. They have a large menu of appetizers, pizza, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and larger entrees to choose from. The bar serves Rock Bottom beers, wine and cocktails. You can find something for everyone at this hometown favorite in Denver.




Woods Boss Brewing Company

From Rock Bottom, head North east on Curtis Street for 6 blocks. Then, turn right on 22nd Avenue and go two blocks to Woods Boss.

Owners Chad Moore & Jordan Fink opened Woods Boss in 2017 in downtown Denver, near Five Points and the Ballpark District. This brewery is walking distance from downtown and has a rustic and very open concept.

Once a collectable car garage, the brewery & tap house feels like a very welcoming lodge. It boasts beautiful wood features including a live-edge bar and wood tables. Tools used to maintain outdoor trails are displayed on the walls. They have 24 taps and over 20 craft beers brewed in house. They often host live music and guests can order food from local restaurants for delivery to your table. This is one of our favorite breweries downtown! Well worth the visit.




Great Divide Brewing Co

From Woods Boss, head northwest 4 blocks on 22nd street to Arapahoe Street to Great Divide Brewing Co.

In 1994, Great Divide Brewing Company was founded by Brian Dunn in downtown Denver in the area soon to be known as the Ballpark area. Great Divide is just blocks from Coors Field, home of the Rockies, which was build in 1995.

They purchased their building, which used to be a dairy processing plant, in the ballpark area in 2001. After much success due to their flavorful beers, they expanded in 2013 with the Barrell Bar where they began their canning production in 2015.

This small taproom and brewery has 16 beers on tap. You can sit at the bar, at one of a handful of tables or on the patio to enjoy your beer. You can see into the production room from the taproom, which is pretty cool. They often have a food truck out front for those who need a bite to eat. Great, flavorful beer in a relaxed atmosphere.



Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery

From Great Divide, head south-west on Arapahoe 2 blocks, turn right on 20th Street and grab a beer at Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery.

Owners Wayne Burns and RJ Banat opened Jagged Mountain Craft Brewery in 2013, combining their passions of adventure and craft beer.

This small, family friendly downtown brewery, located in Five Points/Ballpark District, makes everybody feel at home in a laid back, industrial setting. Sit an the L shaped bar and visit or play a game at a table with family or friends with your choice of a large variety of house-brewed beers. They have 14 beers on tap and a small selection of snacks for sale (soft pretzels, kettle corn, chips & salsa), as well as, food trucks many days.



Wynkoop Brewing Company

Finish your downtown brewery hop at Denver's oldest brewpub - Wynkoop Brewing Company. From Jagged Mountain, head northwest on 20th street for 5 blocks, turn left on Wynkoop Street and go two blocks.

Wynkoop Brewing Company opened in 1988 in Denver on Skid Row in the century old J.S. Brown Mercantile Building. Wynkoop Brewing was the brainchild of John Hickenlooper, Jerry Williams, Mark Schiffler and Russell Schehrer. Wynkoop Holdings, Inc. is now led by Lee Driscoll, its CEO and controlling shareholder.

This large brewpub and restaurant with a rustic décor and a tin ceiling, has something for everyone...you can sit on the patio on Wynkoop Street, at the bar, at a table or in the pool hall upstairs. Enjoy a apps, a burger, a sandwich or an entrée. They have 11 Wynkoop beers on tap and an additional 6 guest beers, as well as, wine and cocktails.
